Traineeships are an opportunity to gain real work experience, job skills and improve your English and maths, if needed. The programme can last up to a maximum of six months with the content tailored to your individual career needs. At its core are a high-quality work experience placement, work preparation training, and English and maths if needed one.
Traineeships give young people aged 16 to 24 the skills and experience that employers are looking for, helping you to boost your careers prospects with an apprenticeship or other employment in the future.
A traineeship has three core elements:
- A work experience placement with an employer.
- A mandatory work preparation training known as employability
- A Flexible Level 1 or 2 Qualification of your choice such as Customer Service, Business Administration, Child Care, Health & Social Care or IT for example.
- English and Maths up to Level 2 (if required)
Traineeships last anything up to a maximum of 6 months with the content tailored to the needs of the business and the individual.
This programme comes with work experience, preparing young people for their future careers by helping them to become ‘work ready’.
